Avoid promoting vitamin C infusion to the general public

Through suggestions, but also through its own official activities, SÚKL has found that many health care facilities, especially through the Internet and social networks, significantly promote the administration of vitamin C infusions. Advertising of prescription-only medicines is only possible for professionals.

However, some advertising messages also include a photograph and the name of the medicinal product or indirect reference to it. The Act on the Regulation of Advertising does not allow the promotion of such a medicinal product to the general public.

Súkl recommends avoiding such promotion of vitamin C infusion, as such conduct may be assessed as an offence and may result in a fine of up to 2 million CZK.
