UDI assignment for contact lenses - draft open for comments

The European Commission has opened for public consultation the draft amendimg Regulation on the assignment of the UDI (Unique Device Identification) for highly individualized devices from 22.3.2023 to 19.4.2023. There is a wide range of types of contact lenses, the aim of this legislation is to group devices with clear clinical similarities under the identifier called "Master-IDU“.
